The Forestry Supervisor manages vegetation in proximity to electrical facilities to promote resiliency transmission services.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the daily activities of business support, technicians, and/or production teams.
  • Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors.
  • Develops and implements strategy and vision for the team.
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure teams have tools and equipment needed to deliver services to customers.
  • Develops performance standards for the team.
  • Observes employees and contractors to ensure they are following all safety rules.
  • Conducts field visits to ensure members have the appropriate tools and equipment to perform work safely.
  • Manages vendor relationships, including selecting vendors and monitoring vendor performance.
  • Monitors and manages expenditures, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Develops resource plans for the team and implements resourcing decisions.
  • Maintains knowledge of skill-development tools/resources and assists employees in creating development plans.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, Horticulture or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Prefer five or more years of experience in vegetation management, utility operations, or related field with at least three years of formal or informal leadership experience.
  • Licenses: ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Utility Specialist, ISA TRAQ, ODA Pesticide Consultant, and ISA Board Certified Master Arborist.
