Forestry Apprenticeship - Southcentral NH
About The Position
The Forestry Apprenticeship is a unique opportunity to learn the skills and competencies required to assist foresters in the care and management of forests across the northeast United States. The Apprenticeship will be a combination of on-the-job-training and college-level coursework over a period of 12-18 months depending on the individual’s pace of achievements and course scheduling. Your mentor will be a highly skilled, knowledgeable, personable and multi-state licensed forester located in LandVest’s Concord, NH office. You will work with a variety of LandVest Foresters, GIS Specialists and Operational Support Staff to provide a broad educational experience on most aspects of private forest/forestland management, as well as, specific skills to be a proficient timber marker and timber cruiser upon completion. Upon successful completion of this competency-based apprenticeship, you will be considered for a full-time position at LandVest. Alternatively, this immersive experience may motivate you to pursue an Associate’s Degree in Forest Technology or a Bachelor’s Degree in Forest Management.
Requirements
- 18 years of age by July 6, 2026
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Passion for recreating and desire to work outdoors
- Strong grades or aptitude in mathematics and biology
- Ability to communicate what sets you apart from the other candidates
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, in remote areas often alone
