About The Position

The Ride Electrical Foreperson is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing rides and electrical equipment throughout the Park. This position requires the ability to work various shifts and days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet business needs. Under occasional supervision, the Foreperson oversees a team of electricians and performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Must have a vocational/technical degree in electrical systems.
  • At least 6-8 years of prior experience as a Sr. Electrician or Journeyman.
  • At least 3 years of supervisor/leadership experience.
  • Must be comfortable working at heights up to 225ft.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing and/or carpentry maintenance work as required.
  • Operate rides as necessary during Park staff shortages.
  • Operate a vehicle, boom truck, rides, Cushman cart, overhead crane, fork lift, man lift, air compressor, diagnostic equipment, motors and pumps, and various other shop equipment.
  • Refer to policies and procedure manuals, maintenance manuals, technical manuals and diagrams, ride manuals, vendor catalogs, codes and regulations.
  • Prepare and/or maintain inspection sheets, daily work records, downtime records, electrical diagrams, electrical readings, modification orders, and various other reports.
  • Receive and review various records and reports including inspection records, electrical diagrams, work orders, ride modification forms, and purchase orders.
  • Attend workshops, meetings, training, etc., to stay abreast of industry trends, products and resources.
  • Receive and respond to inquiries, concerns and complaints from employees and guests regarding ride safety and maintenance.
  • Maintain assigned equipment in a safe and proper working condition; maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Perform all work in accordance with department policies and procedures, regulations, plans and specifications, and standards of quality and safety.
  • Order and assist in maintaining inventory of supplies, parts and materials.
  • Work with other departments on repairs and maintenance projects as appropriate.
  • Supervise the work of subordinate crew members; instruct, assign, review and plan work of others.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records; prepare maintenance reports as required.
  • Review technical documents, blueprints, schematics, catalogs, etc., as needed to support ride maintenance, repair and rehabilitation work.
  • Rehabilitate rides as needed.
  • Modify electrical/electronic systems as needed to ensure ride safety and efficiency.
  • Install electrical conduit and wiring; clean electrical equipment and components; maintain controls on rides; maintain ride lighting.
  • Assist with PLC programming and maintenance.
  • Diagnose electrical problems and initiate required repair work.
  • Respond to work orders and trouble calls in a timely manner.
  • Perform and lead assigned crew in the inspection, maintenance and repair of rides, ride control systems and other equipment.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and safe operating condition of all park rides.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and perform all duties in compliance with Six Flags Safety guidelines.
