About The Position

Great team of forensics personnel supporting the USPIS Forensic Laboratory mission. Work in the USPIS Forensics Laboratory alongside experienced forensics professionals across all areas of forensics. An opportunity for an individual to work in a full functional government laboratory and learn about the USPIS mission. I -3 is a company with many forensics opportunities. The candidate will get first-hand knowledge of what we do and be involved in other forensics activities. Typical Day: Work within the Evidence Unit of the forensic laboratory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in physical or biological sciences, life sciences, chemistry or a closely related field from a college or university accredited by a national or regional accreditation organization recognized and sanctioned by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • 6 months working in a forensic laboratory
  • Ability to obtain a USPIS clearance
  • US citizenship is required

  • Experience working in an accredited laboratory

Responsibilities

  • Receive and inventory evidence
  • Package and return evidence
  • Prepare chemical solutions
  • Utilize the laboratory information management system and case management system to conduct daily tasks
  • Provide technical support to analysts, chemists, and examiners, as directed, to support the examinations of FLS
  • Support FLS management, as directed, to fulfill requirements of accreditation or policy
  • Create examination documentation for work performed, as required
  • Provide expert testimony on work performed, as required
  • Work under FLS policies and procedures
