About The Position

Haag, a Salas O'Brien company and leader in forensic engineering and consulting since 1924, is seeking an experienced Forensic Structural Engineer in Florida. Working from our office in Florida, you will investigate and evaluate the cause and extent of damage following storms, natural disasters, fires/explosions, construction/design defects, accidents, foundation movement, and more.

Requirements

• Must be a licensed P.E. in Florida or eligible by reciprocity.
• Forensic engineering experience is highly preferred.
• Experience working on steep roofs is highly preferred.
• Strong technical writing skills are required.
• Strong verbal communication skills are necessary.
• Technical proficiency with computers, phones, cameras, etc.
• Expert Witness experience is expected.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• A Master of Science Degree in Structural Engineering is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and evaluate the cause and extent of damage following storms, natural disasters, fires/explosions, construction/design defects, accidents, and foundation movement.
• Perform physical requirements of the job, including working in confined spaces and on roofs.
• Carry ladders and operate other equipment as essential functions of the job.
• Travel locally, regionally, and nationally as needed by vehicle or by plane.
• Work independently and with a cross-functional team of experts.
• Write effective reports and communicate findings clearly.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients.
