About The Position

The Forensic Social Worker is responsible for providing comprehensive intervention in lieu of conviction evaluations within program deadlines and Outpatient Competency Restoration (OCR) and/or Attainment (OCA) services. This role is performed under the supervision of the Director of Forensic & Specialized Assessment Services.

Requirements

  • MSW/LISW; prior forensic experience; strong forensic evaluation skills and knowledge of AOD.
  • Knowledge of pertinent Ohio Revised Code Statutes and the criminal justice system.
  • Knowledge of AOD drug dependency/Abuse & AOD issues and the ability to testify in court.
  • Ability to provide assessment and forensic evaluation services.
  • Ability to provide documentation and communication of evaluation results.
  • Ability to understand, articulate and effectively communicate the dynamics of chemical abuse and dependency.
  • Exhibits flexibility and ability to manage multiple demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in alternate locations as assigned.
  • Ability to hear and speak well enough to converse with clients and others employees in person or over the telephone a majority of the time.
  • Ability to operate a computer to record client data, produce written correspondence or reports.
  • Ability to work effectively in an open or closed office environment which may include sitting at a desk for a majority of the time.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain certification in required training programs.

Responsibilities

  • Performs comprehensive intervention in lieu of conviction evaluations including written reports on individuals referred by the Common Pleas and Municipal Courts and probation department/Parole authority, which may include testimony.
  • Provides individual and/or group OCR and OCA services (virtual and/or in person) and assists in scheduling evaluations for these programs.
  • Collaborates with other clinical staff in evaluations and report regarding individuals referred by civil/criminal courts in Central Ohio.
  • Maintains timely and complete documentation of services and activities which meet the standards of Netcare and accrediting agencies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
