About The Position

The Forensic Services Program Administrator 2 at the Central New York Psychiatric Center is responsible for providing administrative direction and oversight in the delivery of mental health services for correctional facility-based programs across multiple units in the state. This role involves managing clinical supervisory functions, developing policies, and ensuring compliance with mental health regulations while promoting a respectful and safe environment for patients and staff.

Requirements

  • One year of permanent service in a title eligible for transfer via Section 52.6 or 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
  • A master's degree and five years of professional administrative experience in a mental health setting, with three years at a supervisory level, and at least two years in a forensic setting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage functional areas and geographic regions of Correction-Based Operations.
  • Develop, revise, and implement policies and procedures for CNYPC and the Office of Mental Health.
  • Integrate goals of satellite units with CNYPC's mission and strategic plan.
  • Supervise Chief of Forensic Unit 1s and Unit Coordinators in Correction-Based Operations.
  • Conduct regular visits to monitor programs at each unit.
  • Report results of visits and activities to CBO and CNYPC Executive staff.
  • Organize and facilitate CBO Unit Chief meetings and training.
  • Review and approve staffing, fiscal, and budgetary proposals.
  • Implement and monitor Extra Service Program for satellite units.
  • Promote an environment of care ensuring dignity and respect for patients, families, providers, and colleagues.
  • Monitor compliance with OMH policies and procedures in satellite units.
  • Interface with DOCCS staff and coordinate policy implementation between satellite units and inpatient operations.
