About The Position
Broughton Hospital, a state psychiatric hospital serving the Western Region of North Carolina, is recruiting for full-time Forensic Psychiatrist. Our 24-hour in-patient facility serves adolescent, adult, deaf, and geriatric patients. Broughton Hospital's population includes Forensic patients whose legal status is primarily 'Incapable to Proceed' to trial. This position serves as a team leader for a multi-discipline treatment team (serving Forensic patients) to ensure quality patient care, including competency restoration treatment. The Forensic Psychiatrist will provide competency re-evaluations to determine an individual's capacity to proceed to trial or a determination of non-restorability.
