About The Position

This is a professional position responsible for providing case management of forensic clients to ensure they are properly placed, getting proper services, and are not putting themselves or the community at risk. This person will specialize with this population and will be the primary liaison as it relates to F .S. 393.11 commitments. They will also assist with those clients committed under F.S. 916 in secure facilities to ensure when they are released, they can access services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Ability to travel.
  • A valid Drivers’ License or other efficient means of transportation
  • Knowledge of: The methods of data collection.
  • Pertinent court documentation.
  • Civil and criminal court systems.
  • Ability to: Prepare correspondence and administrative reports.
  • Understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to work independently and meet critical deadlines.
  • Ability to ensure the integrity of confidential information relating to cases and employees of the Agency.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office programs (including Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, SharePoint)
  • Ability to travel

Responsibilities

  • Liaison between facilities and region for clients committed under FS 916 or FS 393.11, including but not limited to assisting with eligibility issues, discharge planning, and linking clients to services.
  • Make regular contact with forensic clients committed by courts under F.S. 393.11 and their service providers to ensure adequate services are in place to keep client and community safe.
  • Monitor and ensure reporting requirements are met. This includes arranging annual 393.11 evaluations and ensuring they are completed and filed on time, and ensuring the evaluator has all the information needed to appropriately evaluate the client.
  • Ensure clients committed by courts under F.S. 393.11 have adequate community services to ensure they meet court requirements which includes performing regular visits to homes of clients in their living setting to verify health and safety.
  • Assist regional court staff in identifying psychologist to conduct evaluations, providing technical assistance in the elements of the law that need to be addressed in the report.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to waiver support coordinators and other service providers working with forensic clients, while assisting with provider development to serve this group.
  • Liaison with court/probation staff to ensure client fully understands expectations.
  • Other duties as needed.
