About The Position

The Forensic Evaluator conducts comprehensive assessments and evaluations of individuals involved in the criminal justice system to determine mental health, behavioral, and rehabilitative needs. This role provides objective, evidence-based evaluations to support legal decisions, treatment planning, and risk management. The Forensic Evaluator collaborates with clinical teams, correctional staff, and legal authorities to ensure evaluations are accurate, timely, and compliant with organizational and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Behavioral Health, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in forensic, correctional, or behavioral health assessments.
  • Relevant professional licensure (e.g., LCSW, LPC, Psychologist) required or eligible, depending on scope of practice.
  • Strong assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills.
  • Knowledge of forensic, legal, and correctional standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients, clinical teams, and legal authorities.
  • Ability to maintain objectivity, confidentiality, and professionalism in all evaluations.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and documentation systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
  • May be required to stand, sit, walk, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, or stretch for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and understand written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Forensic specialization or coursework preferred.
  • Experience conducting forensic evaluations, risk assessments, or competency assessments preferred.
  • Certification in forensic assessment or risk assessment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychological, behavioral, and forensic assessments of individuals in correctional or forensic settings.
  • Interview patients to gather relevant social, medical, psychological, and behavioral history.
  • Evaluate risk factors, mental health status, and rehabilitation needs to inform legal and clinical decisions.
  • Prepare detailed, objective, and professional evaluation reports for legal authorities, parole boards, or clinical teams.
  • Collaborate with correctional staff, mental health professionals, and interdisciplinary teams to collect necessary information for evaluations.
  • Participate in case conferences, parole hearings, and interdisciplinary treatment meetings as required.
  • Provide recommendations for treatment, supervision, and risk management based on evaluation findings.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) or designated reporting systems.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, PREA, and federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and program development related to forensic evaluations.
  • Provides a positive and professional representation of CFG Health Systems, LLC.
  • Promotes a culture of safety for patients and employees through proper identification, reporting, documentation, and prevention.
  • Maintains competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments related to the scope of the role.
  • Adheres to infection control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations, as applicable.
  • Participates in ongoing quality improvement activities.
  • Completes required orientation and training as directed by the facility.
  • Follows facility policies, OSHA safety rules, and procedures while on assignment.
  • Follows facility and CFG Health Systems Occurrence Protocol.
  • Upholds HIPAA and PREA regulations.
  • Demonstrates punctuality and dependability for assigned and confirmed shifts.
  • Maintains required security clearance for the assigned facility.
