The Forensic Electrical Engineer, P.E. at EFI Global is responsible for investigating electrical systems and failures across various environments, providing expert opinions, and contributing to the company's profitability through engineering consulting services. This remote role requires a combination of travel and expertise in commercial, residential, and industrial electrical systems.

  • Provide power system analysis and determine the origin and cause of fire and explosion losses.
  • Evaluate failures of electronic equipment, appliances, and consumer products.
  • Investigate electric shock/electrocution causes and power surge damage analysis.
  • Inspect losses and loss scenes at residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
  • Analyze and document failure analysis and causation of failures.
  • Examine and test evidence in a laboratory setting and research failure modes.
  • Collaborate with other experts to produce detailed reports on losses and damages.
  • Serve as an expert witness in court and/or depositions.
  • Document and maintain billable hours for forensic engineering projects.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the resident state.
  • Expert witness testimony experience is a plus.
  • Multi-state licensing and/or active NCEES Record.
