About The Position

The position involves supervising divisional projects and team members, ensuring that all projects are completed according to specific guidelines, including quality and safety standards. The supervisor is responsible for coordinating employee schedules, maintaining, and approving time entered into the MCC timekeeping database. Additionally, the role includes providing coaching opportunities to existing team members, managing the ordering and receipt of project inventory, and offering administrative support as required by the project manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans and models.
  • Ability to solve operational challenges.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction, repair, and maintenance standards and practices.
  • Knowledge of job-related safety regulations and techniques.
  • Basic understanding of department's operating budget.
  • Ability to maintain required tool inventory for the position.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage materials and personnel.
  • Willingness to work overtime and non-standard schedules as required.
  • Current valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises divisional projects and team members to ensure completion per guidelines.
  • Coordinates activities with administrators, field supervisors, the public, and co-workers.
  • Initiates discussions and seeks solutions on work-related issues.
  • Communicates workplace expectations to employees, including issuing warnings with Division Manager approval.
  • Travels to construction sites as required to meet project needs.
  • Reviews work requests to determine personnel requirements and procures necessary materials.
  • Ensures tools and equipment are available and adheres to the schedule provided by the estimator/project manager.
  • Develops new divisional procedures/processes with Divisional Manager approval.
  • Responds effectively to customer inquiries.
  • Ensures accuracy of timecards for assigned employees and submits to payroll on time.
  • Obtains weekly cost reports and other administrative requirements from the customer.
  • Maintains a clean work area, tools, and equipment.
  • Leads adherence to safety procedures and obtains permits when required.
  • Operates heavy equipment and machinery as part of essential duties.
  • Works with hazardous materials and in confined spaces as required.
  • Drives a vehicle to various jobsites and maintains a valid driver's license.
  • Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
