As a Production Supervisor at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in overseeing daily plant operations, ensuring safety and quality standards are met while driving efficiency and productivity. This position requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, and offers the opportunity to directly influence plant performance, team development, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Maintenance, and Warehouse staff, ensuring seamless coordination to meet production goals. This is a full-time, onsite role located in Wheatland, PA. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys mentoring teams, and is passionate about improving operational processes and workplace safety.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Associate degree with an emphasis on management or supervision
  • Working knowledge of MES, SAP, or other shop floor platforms
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Strong decision-making, conflict resolution, and leadership skills
  • Excellent time management and communication abilities
  • Ability to foster teamwork and influence positive working relationships

Responsibilities

  • Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices in compliance with regulatory and company standards
  • Performs quality checks on sites and equipment to ensure standards are met
  • Develops and manages work schedules to achieve daily and long-term production goals
  • Delegates responsibilities and monitors team member performance
  • Provides training, cross-training, evaluations, and corrective actions when necessary
  • Oversees inventory accuracy by monitoring cycle counts
  • Generates and reviews operational reports to ensure shift continuity and address issues
  • Identifies and escalates maintenance needs to reduce downtime
  • Collaborates with the Quality Department to maintain and improve site quality standards
  • Develops and implements plans to meet or exceed plant objectives
  • Documents and follows up on injuries and corrective safety measures
  • Manages all aspects of team performance including hiring, coaching, and performance reviews
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Maintains regular, full-time predictable onsite attendance
