About The Position

As a Foreman, Production at Zekelman Industries – Atlas Tube, you will play a key role in driving safe, efficient, and high-performing plant operations at our Chicago, IL facility. This position is responsible for coordinating labor assignments, developing employees, and ensuring production goals are met while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Maintenance, and Operations, ensuring seamless communication, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. This is an onsite role located in Chicago, IL. Requirements

  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Associate degree with an emphasis in management, supervision, or a related field
  • Technical Skills – Experience with shop floor systems such as MES, SAP, or similar platforms; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Soft Skills – Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities
  • Operational Strengths – Effective time management, ability to prioritize tasks, and strong decision-making skills
  • Team-Oriented – Ability to build strong working relationships and foster a collaborative team environment

Responsibilities

  • Lead and promote healthy and safe work practices in compliance with regulatory agencies and company policies.
  • Develop work schedules and coordinate labor assignments to meet production goals efficiently.
  • Supervise team members by delegating responsibilities, providing training, and supporting cross-training initiatives.
  • Monitor production performance and generate daily operational reports to ensure shift continuity and address issues proactively.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Maintenance teams to uphold standards and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Conduct quality checks on equipment and processes to ensure customer and product standards are consistently met.
  • Identify and escalate maintenance needs to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency.
  • Oversee cycle counts and inventory accuracy within the production or warehouse environment.
  • Hire, coach, develop, and evaluate employee performance, including initiating disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Document workplace incidents and implement corrective actions to enhance safety and prevent recurrence.
  • Develop and implement action plans to improve plant performance and operational efficiencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
