Abernethy Contracting is looking for Fine Grade Foreman to join our team in the Charlotte area. If you have experience as a fine grade foreman, take safety seriously and can adapt to a changing work site, this is right up your alley. Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a fine grade foreman.
  • Proficient in dozer, excavator, skid steer, mini excavator, rollers and haul truck.
  • Sense of urgency and ability to respond to changing situations.
  • Ability to adapt, prioritize and complete projects in a changing construction environment.
  • Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints and convey this information to others.
  • Ability to use technology, including iPad.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively.
  • Aptitude in math and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Physical condition and stamina as required necessary for the job activities.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Commitment to safe work practices.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Have the ability to travel within 60-75 miles of greater Charlotte Metro Area.
  • Pass a pre-employment background screening.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee crews performing site work.
  • Read and understand project plans and specifications.
  • Communicate construction needs --material, equipment, and staffing.
  • Inspect work areas throughout construction process to ensure the quality and accuracy of work meets specifications and that crew meets productivity goals.
  • Monitor and ensure that crew follows safety policies and procedures.
  • Oversee development and cross training of crew.
  • Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods and equipment performance to improve efficiency.
