About The Position

This is a position for NIGHT SHIFT Consider joining the Pennex family as a Foreman - Cast Products in Wellsville, PA. The Foreman - Cast Products supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in setting up and operaing casting furnace and peripheral equipment by performing the following duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three or more years of related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must possess a valid Forklift Operator’s license and have prior forklift experience.
  • Must be able to operate overhead crane.
  • Must complete Molten Metal training.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available.

Responsibilities

  • Reads work orders to determine type and size of aluminum logs to be cast.
  • Initiates changes in timing of casting cycle.
  • Supervises operation of melting furnace, cast pit, saws and homogenizers.
  • Adjusts thermostats to control temperatures of molten metal.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Interprets specifications and job orders to workers and assigns duties.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised and other duties as assigned.
