Team Elmer's seeks to fill an opening for a skilled Foreman. This position will directly supervise and coordinate activities of employees assigned to the recycling plant operation; performing manual, supervisory and management duties as assigned. Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinate and manage the portable recycling plant and employees assigned to it. Participate in the moving of the plant and assure a smooth transition of the plant from location to location. Recognize and communicate to Aggregate Crushing Manager any priority projects or problems, such as employee or job costing issues. Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed bring problems to the attention of the Manager, Safety Director and/or Human Resources. Coordinate, direct and lead workers. Assign work to employees, using material and worker requirements data. Supervise crews to obtain top quality workmanship, efficiency, employee satisfaction, morale, communication, commitment, teamwork and pride. Review and verify employee time sheets and submit to Payroll on specified days. Ensure that hours are assigned properly. Suggest and initiate personnel actions, such as communication of performance concerns to management, addressing of performance concerns, ensuring MSHA and company safety policies are followed and training requirements are met and /or completed. Analyze and resolve worker problems and recommend motivational plans. Regularly communicate with the Aggregate Crushing Manager about repair and maintenance needs on all major pieces of equipment on assigned jobs. Follow daily foreman procedures & protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings. Operate a CAT 980 or 988 loader Know and follow all company safety policies as well as OSHA, MIOSHA, and MSHA regulations. Practice safety at all times including driving of company vehicles or use of equipment. Use PPE while on jobsite e.g. hard hat safety glasses, ear protection, high visibility vest, steel toe boots, pants, and gloves. Other duties as assigned.
