About The Position

The Mechanic position is crucial for maintaining the operational efficiency of ready-mix trucks, ensuring that they are in optimal working condition to meet the demands of the construction industry. Under general supervision, the Mechanic will diagnose operational problems and perform necessary repairs on the trucks, adhering to established policies and procedures. This role requires a proactive approach to preventive maintenance, ensuring that all equipment is functioning smoothly and safely. The Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues with ready-mix trucks, performing repairs, and conducting preventive maintenance tasks. This includes maintaining proper oil levels, replacing air filters, and keeping accurate logs of maintenance performed. The Mechanic will also review daily truck inspection sheets for accuracy and compliance with safety regulations. In addition to truck maintenance, the role involves operating and maintaining plant equipment, including loaders, gear boxes, and conveyors. The Mechanic will utilize welding equipment for repairs and will be responsible for ordering necessary parts and supplies to ensure that maintenance tasks can be completed efficiently. Safety is a top priority in this role, and the Mechanic must observe all safety rules while keeping work areas clean and orderly. The position requires a strong understanding of mechanics and electronics associated with heavy mobile equipment, as well as the ability to operate various tools and equipment safely and effectively.
