About The Position

As a Service Advisor at Suburban Ford of Sterling Heights, you will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction by initiating automotive services and repairs. Your primary responsibility will be to ascertain vehicle performance problems and service requests from customers. You will verify warranty and service contract coverage, develop estimates for repairs, and write repair orders while maintaining accurate customer records. Your role will also involve serving as the key communicator and liaison between the customer and the technician, ensuring that the customer's needs are clearly understood and that the necessary and recommended services or repairs are effectively communicated back to the customer. In addition to these responsibilities, you will be tasked with developing estimates by calculating the costs of materials, supplies, and labor, as well as determining the customer's payment obligations, including any deductibles. You will prepare repair orders, obtain necessary approval signatures, and enter the repair orders into the service database system. It will be essential for you to communicate any additional repair and service needs to the customer based on thorough vehicle inspections. You will also administer the manufacturer warranty for qualifying vehicle repairs and keep customers informed about service specials, completion times, and service expenses. This position requires a strong focus on customer service and teamwork, as you will be working closely with both customers and technicians to ensure a seamless service experience. Your ability to understand basic mechanical concepts will be beneficial in this role, as will your previous experience as a Service Advisor or automotive technician.
