Ford Lincoln Transmission Technician
About The Position
Purpose: Technician is responsible for performing transmission repairs and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards. A technician is expected to perform quality work without direct or continual supervision and be able and willing to work on all other work assigned to him/her. Essential Duties : Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards. Diagnoses vehicle problems based on customer complaints and inspection. Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair. Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts. Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended. Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order. Road tests vehicles. Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools and events. Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins. Inspects and test drives newly delivered vehicles for obvious damage ad missing major components and driveability functions.
