About The Position

The Footwear Designer for Athletic Sneakers will play a crucial role in the design and development of innovative athletic footwear for a leading fashion brand. This position requires collaboration with internal teams and overseas development partners to create on-trend designs that resonate with customers across all genders. The designer will be responsible for market research, trend identification, and the production of design prototypes.

Requirements

• Experience with designing in the athletic footwear industry
• Understanding of customer preferences on fashion and style trends
• Strong sketching skills, color sense, and fabric knowledge
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, PLM, Microsoft Word, and Excel

Responsibilities

• Shop the market for trends inside and outside the NY market
• Research concepts, create sketches, prototypes, and artwork
• Travel to Asia to collaborate with key sourcing partners and execute samples
• Produce CADS in Illustrator
• Enter specs into PLM
