About The Position

The Transition Coordinator – Football is responsible for supporting student-athletes through key transitions related to recruitment, onboarding, roster movement, academic integration, and life skills development. This role serves as a liaison between football operations, compliance, academics, player development, and campus resources to ensure student-athletes successfully navigate changes such as enrollment, position changes, redshirting, transfer portal entry or exit, and post-graduation preparation. The Transition Coordinator – Football plays a critical role in promoting student-athlete well-being, retention, and overall program stability while upholding NCAA, conference, and institutional policies. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Design, implement, and manage transition programs for players at critical stages of their football journey. Provide individual transition plans tailored to each player’s sporting, educational, and personal needs. Support players moving between age groups, squads, clubs, or into/out of elite football environments. Act as a key point of contact for players during transition periods. Track player progress and transition outcomes. Maintain accurate records and reports in line with safeguarding and data protection policies. Evaluate transition programs and recommend improvements Assist with on-campus recruiting events. Track university CSER hours for student athletes. Work with our academic staff to assist with distribution of information to coaches. Manage new student on boarding

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Masters preferred.
  • Knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and regulations.
  • 1-3 years of experience and must be up to date on recruiting technologies.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well articulated information.
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
  • Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Computer skills
  • Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
  • May be required to travel (away games and recruiting functions)
  • May be required to sit to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
  • Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the campus.
  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
  • Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.
  • Proof of a valid driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employee’s position.
