We are seeking a Food Team Member for Dollywood Parks & Resorts who will embody the heart and soul of our mission of creating memories worth repeating while caring deeply about our brand. They also bring fun, authenticity, collaboration, creativity, and genuine hospitality to their life and work. We seek an individual who can bring the vision of the resorts to life. The right Food Team Member checklist will include equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator. The Food Team Member position is a frontline position responsible for a wide variety of task to include but not limited to; taking orders, serving, prepping, stocking, organizing, and operating a cash register. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable. Summary of Essential Functions & Responsibilities 14 & 15 Year Olds Responsible for prompt attention to a wide variety of tasks within food services Take orders, serve, assist with limited, non-hazardous food preparation and storage of high-quality food, measure ingredients, understand time and temperature sheets and complete hourly Prepare and serve food that complies with expected Dollywood quality, quantity, and presentation and state health code requirements Operate a variety of equipment including hot-dog rollers, popcorn machines, and warmers/hotboxes, rolling carts, carrying trays, tray jacks, dishwashers, buss tubs, dollies, brooms, mops, etc. Stock and organize work areas throughout the day and before you leave your shift, proper pulling, delivery, rotation of products based on FIFO, storage of product, and recording information May occasionally and briefly retrieve items from walk-in cooler and freezer units, consistent with child labor regulations Clean and sanitize work areas, guest dining areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, or silverware, as well as sweep, scrub or mop the floor, trash removal, dishwashing and cleaning windows as needed Protect company assets: money, merchandise, equipment Maintain accurate records and loss prevention techniques by reporting any shoplifting, counterfeit bills, or any other activities that may be detrimental to the Park Promptly and courteously greet each guest with a smile, eye contact, and good body language treating each guest as an individual Provide prompt, courteous attention to guest orders while serving and/or preparing high quality food for our guests’ enjoyment Suggestively sell to Guest and thank them for coming Answer guest questions about menu items and pricing and execute proper cash handling procedures Wear, keep clean, and maintain themed costume issued by Dollywood’s Splash Country Willing to work at different locations on Park Know and follow all procedures regarding the execution of Dining Pass, Meal Vouchers, Gift vouchers, other internal vouchers, etc. Enforces and adheres to all Park, department, and safety policies and procedures Follow all procedures/standards affecting Foods financial standing such as portion control, suggestive selling, clocking in/out properly, and completion of tasks in a timely and accurate manner. Understand and practice safe food handling at all times, following Sevier County regulations and ServSafe guidelines Learn and memorize 4-Critical Safety Standards Follows All Host Safety Standards and General Safety Training guidelines and uses associated injury prevention measures Suspend operations when continuation would be inconsistent with Safety Standards or Procedures or presents a safety hazard to Guests or Hosts 16+ Years Old All essential functions and responsibilities from the section above Operate a variety of kitchen and cooking equipment including fryers, ovens, griddles, grills, steamers and steam kettles, drink machines, dough machines and other power-driven cooking equipment Safely use hand-held kitchen knives for cutting, chopping, and slicing food items May work for prolonged periods of time in walk-in coolers and freezers Management reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties at any time

Requirements

  • Must be at least 14 years of age
  • Employees may be required to be 18 years of age to operate some equipment
  • At least 6 months of previous foods experience preferred
  • At least 6 months of previous customer service preferred
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Able to make a friendly impression when speaking to or corresponding with guests, vendors, and other employees
  • Must reflect Dollywood’s image by being genuinely friendly and caring and by taking pride in work
  • Must be self-motivated and disciplined
  • Must be able to prioritize and complete work assignments on a timely basis
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality and judgment regarding privileged information
  • Must be committed to continuous improvement
  • Must have professional appearance with good personal hygiene
  • Must promote and support a “team” work environment by cooperating and helping co-workers

  • Must have manual dexterity necessary to complete all job duties
  • Able to sit and/or stand for long/short periods
  • Able to prioritize tasks and complete assignments on time
  • Use of specific equipment is restricted based on employee age and in accordance with federal and state child labor laws
  • Basic math skills necessary to count out change to guests as applicable
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs with or without a 2-person lift. 30+ lbs require a 2-person lift
  • Must take Start Fresh training, as well as implement all safety aspects of Start Fresh training
  • Must be able to work and tolerate temperatures ranging from 0 to 120 degrees
  • Must comply with all Health Dept., Serv Safe, and Company regulations pertaining to Food Safety Handling Procedures
