About The Position

Under broad supervision, prepares and builds food items according to standardized recipes and directions. Cleans work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware. Job Description: Properly stores food by adhering to DBHDD food safety policies, procedures, and sanitation Sets up work stations including prep tables, service counters, hot wells, steam tables, etc. Breaks down, cleans, and sanitizes work stations Maintains positive attitude towards individuals (patients) co-workers, etc. Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables Carries pans of food to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards. Stores food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures. Resolves meal delivery concerns and relays relevant on information to supervisor Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must pass a pre-employment background check (which includes criminal records check, driver's history, and verification of work history) and a post-hire federal background investigation.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and will be placed in the pool for the State Random Drug Testing Program.

  • Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • High School and College Degrees Must Be From an Accredited Institution
  • An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of work experience as an assistant in preparing, cooking and serving food in a food service operation
  • Six (6) months of experience in preparing, cooking and serving food.
  • following menus in serving diets.
