About The Position
Good Samaritan University Hospital is a 537- bed (including 100 nursing home beds) teaching hospital and a member of Catholic Health. With almost 900 physicians on staff, and a level II Trauma Center, we care for well over 100,000 patients annually across the south shore of Long Island. The Food Service Ambassador is responsible for daily meal service for hospitalized patients. Includes explaining and assisting with meal selections via computerized program, delivering and retrieval of meal trays and stocking floor nourishment; cleaning and sanitizing of work area, equipment and patient trays.
Requirements
- High School graduate, GED or relevant experience
- Minimum one-year experience in hotel, restaurant or hospital food service.
- Be able to follow written and verbal directions with basic literacy in English.
- Possesses excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledge of basic computer systems.
