About The Position

The Food Specialist at Learning Care Group is responsible for preparing nutritious meals and snacks for children enrolled in the childcare center. The position also involves maintaining inventory and assisting in classrooms as needed, making it a vital part of the childcare team.

Requirements

• Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility, preferred.
• Willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations.
• Flexibility regarding hours and schedule of work.

Responsibilities

• Create home-style, nutritional meal plans within the school's menu and budget.
• Prepare meals and snacks for children and staff.
• Distribute food to classrooms according to the daily menu.
• Follow USDA, licensing, and health department regulations for food preparation.
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies, ordering more when needed.
• Assist in classrooms as needed as an Assistant Teacher/Floater.
