About The Position

If this is you, we want you to join our Food Access program at Family Pathways. We are currently recruiting for a part-time Food Shelf Assistant Coordinator to ensure healthy food is equitably available for eligible populations, complete administrative, scheduling, documentation and inventory management tasks, and provide direct client assistance. This position requires computer work, flexibility in working hours, and the ability to help others while keeping confidentiality and conveying compassion. This position supports the work and mission of Family Pathways to work alongside people to enhance lives through a continuum of essential services and—together with community—champion positive social change.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with completing client intake, maintaining and updating records according to policies, promote confidentiality, and provide clients with information and referrals to other resources.
  • Assist with the management of food within regulatory policy and procedure guidelines to ensure food is rotated and stocked using first in/first out standards, in addition to coordinating food sharing with the Family Pathways system to keep spoilage to a minimum.
  • Distribute food via full shops, bread and produce shops, and other distributions methods as directed.
  • Prepare accurate financial information, records, and data reports while exhibiting timely and clear communication with other Family Pathways staff members and food shelves.
  • Attend meetings and other community events as directed to inform community members of services and to learning more about individual community needs.
  • Participate in various campaigns and events such as March FoodShare, End-of-Year giving, Holiday meals program, and food and fund drives while developing and fostering positive community relationships with stakeholders such as individuals, businesses and churches.
