About The Position

Join Our Mission-Driven Team at the Alfond Youth & Community Center! We are currently seeking a dedicated and service-oriented Food Services Associate to join our kitchen team. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering exceptional guest and member service across various food service areas including our Youth Cafeteria, Wellness Window, and Concession Stands. This hands-on position involves food preparation, cooking, cleaning, serving, and handling transactions — all while ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our members and guests. Requirements

• A high school education or GED equivalence if preferred
• A valid driver’s license with a clean record is desirable
• Food Safety/Safe Handling Certification from an approved source
• Ability to obtain certification if not currently holding, within 6 months
• Civil Rights training is required and provided for all persons who are associated with Food Service
• 1 to 3 years of experience working in food distribution and preparation
• 1 to 3 years of customer service experience

Responsibilities

• Prepare food/concessions in a timely and efficient manner
• Appropriately handle cash and credit card transactions
• Assist in preparing healthy and nutritional meals for the children that attend our programs throughout the AYCC
• Follow established standards of sanitation, safety and food preparation in all areas of the Kitchen
• Be aware and sensitive of those children who are new to the program and take the necessary steps to ensure that they are oriented to program logistics, schedules, and rules that govern conduct and activities with the Alfond Youth & Community Center as it pertains to food services
• Be aware of allergies and/or other relevant health information
• Ability to attend all essential trainings/certifications
