About The Position

The Food Services Associate is responsible for assisting with preparing the salad bar, maintaining an adequate supply of beverages, ensuring the cafeteria and dining room remain clean at all times, assisting in the preparation and delivery of patient meals and room supplies, operating the dish machine, assisting the cook as required, and stocking kitchen necessities on each floor as required and stocking cafeteria with needed items. The role includes complying with established guidelines for sanitation and safety, obtaining the tray count by unit for each meal, setting up the salad bar, washing dishes, recording dish machine temperatures, following cleaning assignments, interacting with patients, and cleaning tables and chairs after lunch.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • No experience required.
  • Must complete Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness Sanitation course for food service employees within first 60 days of employment.
  • Must possess excellent verbal skills in communicating with patients, coworkers, and visitors.
  • Must be able to actively participate in a treatment team environment.
  • Consistently demonstrates all Service Excellence Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparing the salad bar and maintaining an adequate supply of beverages.
  • Ensure the cafeteria and dining room remain clean at all times.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of patient meals and room supplies.
  • Operate the dish machine and assist the cook as required.
  • Stock kitchen necessities on each floor and cafeteria with needed items.
  • Comply with established guidelines for sanitation and safety.
  • Obtain the tray count by unit for each breakfast, lunch, and dinner meal.
  • Set up the salad bar and prepare vegetables, salads, and other salad bar items.
  • Wash dishes and maintain the dish room area in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Record dish machine temperatures on daily log after each meal.
  • Follow cleaning assignments of the dining room and food preparation area daily.
  • Interact well with patients in the serving line providing good customer service.
  • Clean tables and chairs after lunch and mop cafeteria floor at approximately 1:30 p.m.
