About The Position

The Food Services Aide supports the Food Services department by assisting in meal service, participant dietary needs, and kitchen operations. This role ensures meals and snacks are served safely, accurately, and in accordance with Registered Dietitian (RD) specifications, while maintaining compliance with BoldAge standards, policies, and regulatory guidelines. BoldAge PACE is an all-inclusive program of care, personalized to meet the individual health and well-being needs of our participants. Requirements

  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and the minimum state required liability auto insurance.
  • Be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up to date before engaging in direct participant contact.
  • Pass a comprehensive criminal background check that may include, but is not limited to, federal and state Medicare/Medicaid exclusion lists, criminal history, education verification, license verification, reference check, and drug screen.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year working with the elderly population required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in food service, healthcare, long-term care, or a related setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic nutrition, modified diets, and safe food-handling practices preferred.
  • Ability to follow menus and dietary instructions provided by the Registered Dietitian and Food Service Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Serves morning snacks and lunch meals as directed by the Food Service Supervisor and according to the menu.
  • Provides supplements, thickened liquids, and adaptive equipment to participants as ordered.
  • Assists participants with menu selection and organizes individual diet cards, if applicable.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the kitchen, dining areas, and equipment in accordance with policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Completes daily and weekly cleaning tasks as outlined in the cleaning schedule.
  • Stocks food and supplies using the first-in/first-out (FIFO) method.
  • Observes and reports changes in participants’ appetite, food tolerance, or nutritional status to the Food Service Supervisor.
  • Communicates equipment, supply, or kitchen concerns to the Food Service Supervisor and Food Service Coordinator as appropriate.
  • Updates the daily census list and participant dietary information as directed.
  • Demonstrates dependability, initiative, cooperation, and professionalism in all work settings.
  • Follows all BoldAge policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Practices Standard Precautions and handles potentially infectious materials safely, following OSHA and BoldAge safety guidelines.
  • Maintains a safe working environment at all times.
  • Participates in required staff meetings, continuing education, and training programs.
  • Supports and contributes to Quality Improvement initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational needs.
