About The Position

Prepare and serve nutritional meals for students and staff following USDA and TDA guidelines . Follow all rules and regulations in order to maintain a safe sanitary workplace.

Requirements

• Must have a Valid Food Handler Permit
• Wear black slip resistant shoes
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions.
• Ability to understand food preparation and safety instructions.
• Working knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production procedures.
• Ability to operate large and small kitchen equipment and tools.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.
• Ability to follow specific instructions pertaining to food service operations.
• Must have some experience working in the food service industry.
• Is punctual and attendance is essential.
• Is dependable.
• Is physically capable of performing assigned tasks.
• Exhibits poise and self-control.
• Uses common sense/behaves in a professional manner.
• Shows enthusiasm for work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quality food according to the planned menu of tested, uniform recipes.
• Serve food according to meal schedules, departmental policies, and procedures.
• Practice and promote portion control and proper use of leftovers.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by Cafeteria Manager.
• Follow safety and HACCP program in respective kitchen, following the county, state, and federal health department regulations.
• Apply the rules of safety and sanitation to ensure care in food handling safety work and reduction of accidents.
• Performs all cleanup duties as assigned by the Cafeteria Manager.
• Practice proper storage and handling of food items and supplies.
• Help maintain a clean and organized storage area.
