About The Position

The Food Service team member is responsible for preparing, cooking, and maintaining fresh food offerings during peak morning and midday business hours in a fast-paced convenience store environment. This role ensures food quality, safety, and presentation standards are consistently met while also providing excellent customer service and operating the cash register as needed. Requirements

  • Previous food service, retail, or customer service experience preferred
  • Basic math skills and ability to operate a cash register/POS system
  • Knowledge of food safety practices (ServSafe certification a plus, if applicable)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality, especially for early morning shifts
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25–50 pounds as needed

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook food items according to company recipes, standards, and food safety guidelines
  • Ensure all food displays, warmers, and grab-and-go items are fully stocked and visually appealing during peak hours
  • Monitor food freshness, rotate stock, and properly label products
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary food preparation area in compliance with health regulations
  • Receive and stock food and supply deliveries as needed
  • Provide prompt, friendly customer service, including taking food orders and answering questions
  • Operate the cash register accurately, including handling cash, credit/debit transactions, and issuing receipts
  • Assist with general store operations, including cleaning, stocking shelves, and maintaining overall store appearance
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding inventory levels and food production needs
