As a Food Service Worker, you will be trained by the Food Services Manager to follow approved menus and adhere to all proper procedures and protocols of the facility. This role is essential in ensuring that our residents receive nutritious meals that meet their dietary needs, which can significantly impact their overall well-being and future successes. In this position, you will assist the Food Services Manager in preparing meals according to a State-approved menu and ensuring that the kitchen complies with all standards and codes set by the Florida Department of Health. You will be responsible for preparing food trays and ensuring they are ready for designated mealtimes for each shift. Additionally, you will maintain cleanliness in the kitchen by ensuring that all utensils and equipment are returned and cleaned after use, and that the kitchen environment is kept sanitary and organized. Your duties will also include managing the kitchen's operational tasks, such as emptying grease from the flat-top grill, changing deep fryer grease weekly, and defrosting freezers as needed. You will be expected to perform specific cleaning tasks on designated days to maintain a high standard of hygiene. Furthermore, you will demonstrate cultural knowledge, awareness, and sensitivity while working with the youth and report directly to the Food Services Manager regarding any kitchen-related issues. This role requires excellent communication, organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and its residents.
