About The Position

Responsible for food preparation for facility residents and customers while following food safety standards. Operate the cash register, provide excellent customer service, and follow cash handling standards. Adhere to all department policies and procedures. Responsible for restocking and sanitation of general working area and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Motor skills including hand eye coordination and ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand English proficiently.
  • Physically able to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
  • General knowledge of cash handling, basic math, computers and POS systems.
  • Ability to prepare food following standardized recipes, quality control and have a thorough knowledge of food safety standards.
  • California Food Handlers Card or Managers ServSafe Certificate required.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Graduate preferred.
  • 2 years of food handling or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food according to standardized recipes, production charts, and menus.
  • Ensure the preservation of nutritional value, flavor, and texture during food preparation.
  • Monitor and maintain proper food temperatures, adhere to diet specifications, and control portion sizes.
  • Present food with attention to visual appeal and appropriate service placement.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, following sanitation practices to prevent contamination.
  • Adhere to county health and state regulations regarding food safety and storage.
  • Uphold personal hygiene standards, including wearing appropriate attire, using specified handwashing techniques, and covering hair in food production/service areas.
  • Perform dishwashing and ware washing activities in compliance with state and county regulations.
  • Conduct work according to safety guidelines, demonstrating personal awareness to others and report all safety hazards to department management promptly.
  • Ensure punctuality and maintain regular attendance.
  • Provide excellent service to co-workers and customers alike.
  • Operate a cash register efficiently, accurately processing customer transactions.
  • Handle cash transactions with precision, ensuring proper change and adhering to cash-handling procedures.
  • Prepare and complete end-of-shift deposit procedures, securely documenting and depositing earnings.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth and accurate shift transition
  • Adhere to all established department policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.
