About The Position

The primary purpose of the Food Service Worker position (Retail Services) is to assist in station set-up, serving food to staff, students, and visitors in retail services in a professional efficient manner; and to maintain an organized and clean serving/dining environment.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently to perform the duties of the position is required.
Effective verbal and written communications. Customer service and hospitality- oriented.
Attention to detail with appropriate follow through.
Ability to work effectively as a team member in a flexible manner.
Ability to establish effective relationships within a multi-cultural environment.

Responsibilities

Delivers patient‑centered service by maintaining a friendly, safe, and respectful environment while modeling Service Excellence.
Communicates clearly, resolves customer concerns promptly, and maintains professional composure.
Works collaboratively to meet or exceed service expectations and customer service score targets.
Sets up food stations, prepares orders, and serves customers efficiently in Retail Services.
Performs cleaning and sanitation duties and handles food according to all applicable health codes and Joint Commission standards.
Provides superior customer service aligned with UH’s Mission and Five Star Service Program; supports catering and other retail venues as needed.
Adheres to UH compliance standards, including Corporate Compliance, Code of Conduct, and Conflict of Interest policies, and stays current on relevant laws and regulations.
Performs additional related duties as assigned.
