About The Position

The Food Service Worker serves as a cafeteria worker helping in all steps of food presentation, setup, serving, and sanitation of the kitchen and dining room.

Requirements

Must follow set procedures in accomplishing repetitive assignments and follow established sequence of work
Demonstrated history of related food service experience preferably with a major institution or the military is desired.
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Work in a standing position in the dining facility and kitchen area for 6 to 7 hours (excluding break and lunch periods)
Some bending and stooping

ServSafe certification preferred; may be required if hired.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of tasks having several steps or a sequence of tasks that require attention to work operations in a kitchen, and the dining area following established procedures.
Set up and replenish cafeteria lines, steamtables, dining room tables, and side service stands with hot and cold food items, including meat, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter, and beverages.
Assemble or toss fresh fruit and green salads in quantity using prepared dressings and portions into standard serving sizes.
Make cold sandwiches using prepared ingredients.
Clean all tabletops and ensure that all counters and windowsills are free from dust.
May assist in ensuring that all dining facility floors are swept and mopped daily.
Ensure that all napkin dispensers, salt and pepper shakers, and condiments dispensers are full before and after each meal.
Remove all dishes from the collection station and wash according to HACCP standards.
Wash all dishes, pots and pans and utensils in accordance with the HACCP standards.
Clean other kitchen equipment daily, or as needed.
Adhere to the Company rules and regulations as set forth in the employee handbook.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
