Apply today if this sounds interesting to you! JOB DESCRIPTION: Food Service Workers are essential in feeding everyone within the hospital. They may help with: p reparing a patient’s meal tray for delivery , d elivery of meals to patient rooms , d ishwashing , s eparating trash/ recycle /compost , and r e-stocking supplies. Job routines require patient interaction, working as a team, the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, and moving large carts throughout the hospital. Great attitude and navigation skills are helpful! Experience is preferred; however, this is a great way to join the UVMMC team and begin an amazing career in food service and healthcare.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred, minimum 18 years of age.
  • Ability to read, speak, write and understand English.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to follow basic oral and written instructions.
  • Meets the physical demands of the job, including standing for extended periods of time and walking long distances.
  • Must be dependable – no excessive absenteeism/tardiness - per department policy.
  • Understands and follows safety and sanitation procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a high volume, fast paced food service environment is preferred.
  • Experience is preferred
