Employer paid medical insurance is provided through the Health & Welfare benefit. This position supports a dining facility that operates 7 days a week. Employees will not be scheduled all seven days. The hours are 1:30 PM until 8:00 PM. Job Summary Work under the direction of the Supervisor - Cafeteria Zone. Follow prescribed steps after receiving instructions on how to perform required tasks. Supervisor - Cafeteria Zone observes the work to determine whether it is performed properly.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) preferred.
  • No previous food service experience is required.
  • Must pass a military installation background check.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Capable of providing excellent customer service.
  • Well-organized and self-directed team player.

Responsibilities

  • Replace glassware, dishes, and silverware and refill condiment containers.
  • Wipe and wash tables and countertops.
  • Clean work area, utensils, and equipment; remove garbage; mop floors; clean walls, windows, and tables.
  • Use chemical solutions and operate electric dish washing machine and/or wash glassware, pots and pans and kitchen utensils by hand.
  • Assist in other areas as needed.
  • Maintain the following in a sanitary condition: equipment, work areas, utensils, and tables.
  • Perform a wide variety of manual tasks in kitchen or dining area of a food activities, which involves light to moderate physical effort and is done according to established procedures.
  • Perform ware-washing, and keep pot and pan areas organized prior to, during and after meals.
  • Notify supervisor immediately of malfunctioning, inoperative, unsafe, or hazardous equipment cleaned or used.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
