Requirements

  • Ability to understand and communicate effectively in English.
  • Demonstrated manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive tasks efficiently.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods during meal preparation and service.
  • Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to adapt and change in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to do simple arithmetic
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Be able to lift 30 Lbs.and stand for extended periods of time
  • Dependable, Punctual
  • Ability to follow all safe food handling requirements
  • Successfully pass a criminal background check

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a food service or cafeteria environment.
  • Certification in food handling or sanitation (e.g., ServSafe).
  • Familiarity with school nutrition programs and regulations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory and supply management.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve meals and snacks according to established menus and portion sizes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food preparation and serving areas in compliance with health regulations.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while following all safety protocols.
  • Assist in receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
  • Provide courteous and helpful service to students and staff during meal times.
  • Monitor food temperatures and quality to ensure safety and compliance with standards.
  • Support inventory management by reporting supply needs and shortages to supervisors.
  • Adhere to all school policies and procedures related to food service and safety.
