About The Position

Wonderful College Prep Academy is a charter network in California's Central Valley committed to providing a world-class education for all students. In 2016, we moved to our new, state-of-the-art college prep campus in Delano, and in the Fall of 2017, added an elementary school in Delano and opened a second charter school in Lost Hills. In Delano, we serve over 1,800 students in grades TK-12, while in Lost Hills, we serve over 400 students in grades TK-12. Requirements

• Prior food service experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain a California Food Handler Training Certificate
• Demonstrated reliability, organization, and ability to follow standardized recipes and kitchen procedures
• Valid California non-commercial Class Driver’s license, if performing drop-off or delivery services
• Ability to walk, stand, and patrol for extended periods, as well as respond quickly to incidents.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds if needed.
• Work schedule can fluctuate
• Wet floors. (must wear non-slip closed-toe footwear)
• Ability to work in hot temperatures.
• Exposure to hot and cold water.
• Ability to work around hot equipment or cold refrigeration.
• Constant noise.

Responsibilities

• Follow cycle menus and standardized recipes in preparing a variety of meals for students and staff.
• Prepare ingredients, including cleaning, slicing, chopping, measuring, weighing, and portioning with accuracy and consistency.
• Execute basic cooking techniques such as roasting, baking, sauteing, and boiling in accordance with safety and quality standards.
• Monitor food quality and communicate concerns to supervisors immediately.
• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of equipment and work areas.
• Adheres to food and safety handling policies and HACCP and PPE procedures.
• Support meal service in Harvest Hall, including food truck or grab-and-go stations, ensuring timely and friendly service to students and staff.
• Engage with students and staff in a respectful, service-oriented manner that aligns with WCPA’s values.
• Work collaboratively with other food service team members and culinary leads.
• Participate in staff development and training in food trends, kitchen safety, and recipe innovation.
• May perform drop-off or delivery services.
• May perform any of the duties described in the Food Services Worker I specification or other duties as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
