Requirements

• Current County issued Food Handlers card or online card obtained through StateFoodSafety.com within 1 week of hire.
• Ability to be scheduled for work based on operational needs of the hospital.
• Possesses the ability to deal tactfully and harmoniously with guests.
• Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of assigned areas, necessary supplies and equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow written work assignments.
• Frequent standing, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to effectively work in a noisy setting and under deadline pressures.
• Work area may be hot, cold, and/or wet.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assembles patient trays. Performs assigned duties on the trayline accurately and efficiently.
• Delivers/collects patient trays to/from the patient safely and accurately.
• Prepares and delivers nourishments to patients according to established procedures.
• Portions food items for patients and guests according to department standards.
• Monitors, records and maintains proper temperature control of all food products to assure food safety.
• Labels, dates, rotates and stores all products in foodservice area.
• Operates all food service equipment according to manufacture guidelines and in a safe manner.
• Maintains sanitation standards and equipment is cleaned daily and in accordance to standards.
• Attends in- service education and department meetings and adheres to hospital/department policies and procedures.
