About The Position
MMG is seeking Food Service Workers to support K-12 schools throughout the Charleston, SC area. This role involves preparing and serving meals to students, processing meal transactions, and maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing quality food service in a school setting.
Requirements
- Experience in food service, cafeteria operations, or a similar role preferred
- Ability to handle cash transactions and learn to use a POS system
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations (Food Handler certification a plus)
- Customer service oriented with a positive attitude
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Passion for serving in an educational environment
- Good communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform kitchen duties
- Selected candidates MUST provide proof of a negative TB test prior to starting work & PASS a background check
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals following USDA guidelines.
- Handle cash transactions and operate the point-of-sale system.
- Maintain clean and sanitary work areas, including kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Follow food safety regulations and proper sanitation practices.
- Adhere to work schedules and complete assigned cleaning tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Nutrition Services Manager or Assistant Manager.
