JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW The Food Service Worker position will be located at a higher education setting. The food server performs a variety of job responsibilities relating to: preparing and serving food in accordance with the daily menu and recipe standards; engaging students, teachers and parents in Genuine Foods’ mission. The ideal candidate enjoys working with students and educators and has a superior customer service orientation.

Requirements

  • Must be flexible & team-oriented!
  • 1-3 years of food or customer service experience/training in a mid-high volume food service facility or restaurant.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic and level headedness.
  • Punctual and able to adhere to the time and attendance policy.
  • Able to climb stairs and lift up 50 lbs.
  • Interest in and committed to Genuine Foods’ mission to use food to help students enhance their minds, bodies and happiness.
  • Must be able to work in a school environment

Responsibilities

  • Make menu items pursuant to recipes.
  • Prepare raw foodstuffs to get ready for final cooking.
  • Follow the lead of the Culinary Lead at all times.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen team at all times.
  • Cook and assemble all menu items pursuant to specifications.
  • Stock and organize the kitchen area.
  • Clean and maintain cooking utensils.
  • Interact with scholars and teachers as needed to provide excellent service.
  • Maintain clean service areas.
  • Any other duties assigned
  • Alert Culinary Lead of any workplace problems
