About The Position

This position is responsible for preparing meals to order, catering, and batch cooking for patients, visitors, and staff. Requirements

• Within 30 days of hire: Food Service Managers Certification (SJMH only)
• Food Service Handlers Certification (MHC, HH, HMC, Cancer Institute)
• Food Allergens Certification

Nice To Haves

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 6 months Technical Experience

Responsibilities

• Maintains clean work area following all safety and sanitation guidelines
• Enters and reports cash transactions.
• Adjusts meals to meet the needs of the patient while following doctor’s orders
• Keeps all work areas adequately stocked with food, condiments, beverages and service ware.
• Washes dishes and utensils following Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines in all actions.
• Delivers and retrieves trays using required patient identifiers in all interactions.
• Attractively and accurately assembles patient trays.
• Follows established portion control guidelines when serving food and beverages
• Responsible for service to retail operations.
• Prepares meals using approved food sanitation practices
• Sweeps and mops floors using approved methods.
