About The Position
ABOUT THE POSITION: Food Service Worker Duties & Responsibilities Oversees meal planning and food purchases to meet DPH guidelines, with accepted quality standards and budget constraints. Ensures meals are prepared in a timely and safe manner, meals meet community standards for nutrition expectations. Ensures that kitchen and dining area meet all safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards. Provides education to residents regarding food preparation, cooking skills, food purchasing, healthy eating, and nutrition. Monitors medications of all residents in accordance with the Adult residential medication policy and procedure. Prepares and facilitates educational and skill building groups and one to one interventions as directed by the treatment plan. Collaborates and coordinate care with providers and families as needed. Assists residents in addressing medical and psychiatric needs. Maintains documentation in compliance with agency and program standards. Participates in staff meetings, supervision, trainings and other meetings as assigned. Additional duties as required.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Experience: Strongly preferred: a minimum of two years’ experience as a cook; previous experience in meal planning and purchasing for at least 30 people and/or in a congregate care setting
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current valid driver’s license (with good driving record).
