About The Position

St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 employees. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent’s is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the system’s second-largest hospital. Job Summary: Assists with preparation, assembly and service of food and beverages.

Requirements

  • Must be customer friendly and able to speak English.

  • Previous experience in a healthcare food service preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Handles portions and serves food in accordance with menu and dietary restrictions.
  • Adheres to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines in the sanitation and maintenance of work area.
  • May plan, organize and serve food for large groups.
  • Covers, labels and dates all food products to be stored.
  • Works assigned tasks on tray production line including preparation of patient meals trays and items for meal service.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely delivery and picking up of patient trays in a customer friendly manner.
  • Follows department regulatory standards including hair covering, wearing gloves, dress attire as required.
