Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Current valid driver’s license (with good driving record).

Nice To Haves

  • Strongly preferred: a minimum of two years’ experience as a cook; previous experience in meal planning and purchasing for at least 30 people and/or in a congregate care setting
  • Strongly Preferred: ServSafe® Certification

Responsibilities

  • Oversees meal planning and food purchases to meet DPH guidelines, with accepted quality standards and budget constraints.
  • Ensures meals are prepared in a timely and safe manner, meals meet community standards for nutrition expectations.
  • Ensures that kitchen and dining area meet all safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
  • Provides education to residents regarding food preparation, cooking skills, food purchasing, healthy eating, and nutrition.
  • Monitors medications of all residents in accordance with the Adult residential medication policy and procedure.
  • Prepares and facilitates educational and skill building groups and one to one interventions as directed by the treatment plan.
  • Collaborates and coordinate care with providers and families as needed.
  • Assists residents in addressing medical and psychiatric needs.
  • Maintains documentation in compliance with agency and program standards.
  • Participates in staff meetings, supervision, trainings and other meetings as assigned.
  • Additional duties as required.
