About The Position

This is a full-time Food Service Worker position located at UBS - 11 Madison Avenue, New York, NY. The role is with Restaurant Associates, a leading provider of dining and event catering for prestigious museums, performing arts centers, and corporations. The primary responsibilities include preparing, presenting, and serving food, as well as performing various kitchen duties such as washing, peeling, cutting fruits and vegetables, weighing ingredients, carrying food items, and storing food according to safety and rotation procedures. The worker is also responsible for cleaning work areas, equipment, and utensils, distributing supplies, and ensuring proper quality, serving temperatures, and portion control using approved recipes. Customer service is a key aspect, requiring friendly and efficient service, resolving concerns, and relaying information to a supervisor. The position demands compliance with company service standards, inventory and cash control procedures, and all sanitation and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Prior food service experience is required.
• Abides by all Company policies and procedures including but not limited to: The use of a medium weight cut gloves when handling or using knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins or cleaning a slicer.
• Abides by all Company policies and procedures including but not limited to: The use of oven mitts, fryer gloves or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers or steamtables.
• Abides by all Company policies and procedures including but not limited to: The use of slip-resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.

Responsibilities

• Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weighs and measures designated ingredients.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
• Stores food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Utilizes approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
• Resolves customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor.
• Ensures compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
• Assures compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
