About The Position

The position involves preparing and serving food and beverages to patients and customers, as well as assisting in cleaning work areas, equipment, and utensils, and collecting garbage. The role includes performing cashier duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and deliver food trays to medical center patients and meals on wheels clients.
  • Serve food to cafeteria customers and patients.
  • Prepare food according to written instructions.
  • Process menus and diet orders.
  • Read and interpret production orders, recipes, and written directions to prepare food.
  • Select and manipulate dishes and utensils to portion menu items.
  • Portion and measure menu items according to production schedule or menu stated amounts.
  • Arrange items on trays quickly, accurately, and neatly according to customer request.
  • Prepare food items such as entrees, vegetables, sandwiches, salads, soups, and beverages.
  • Place servings in blender to make foods for soft or liquid diets.
  • Collect cart containing soiled meal trays and push cart to the kitchen.
  • Sort and remove food and paper from soiled trays, dishes, and flatware.
  • Inspect all work surfaces and equipment to assure cleanliness and safe operation.
  • Disassemble and reassemble parts of equipment for cleaning and proper operation.
  • Clean equipment, parts, utensils, and dishes following safe food handling procedures.
  • Collect garbage and transport it to the dumpster.
  • Count and match items with written list to inventory stock and order supplies as needed.
  • Read thermometer to measure temperatures of food and equipment.
  • Accurately count money and process cash register transactions.
  • Store and rotate stock, and clean and organize walk-in refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage areas.
