Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • No previous work experience required.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect.
  • Basic food-handling skills.
  • Willingness to be open to learning and growing.
  • Maturity of judgment and behavior.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Must comply with any dress code requirements.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and some holidays.
  • Ability to engage patients and team members utilizing the CMH Experience Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the setup and serving of food from counters and steamtables.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and workstations.
  • Read recipes and/or product directions.
  • Estimate food requirements.
  • Operate a variety of kitchen utensils to weigh, measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, grind, stir, strain, season, and knead foodstuffs for cooking, serving, and storing.
  • Assist in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods, and properly store food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage.
  • Inspect workstations for compliance with service standards.
  • Keep records and requisition for supplies/equipment as needed.
  • Taste test products.
  • Set up stations with entrées, soups, salads, breads, condiments, other food products and utensils.
  • Provide general stocking duties in service area.
  • Serve and replenish food from counters and steam tables.
  • Brew coffee and tea.
  • Restock other beverage areas as required.
  • Interact with customers in the serving, retail and dining areas.
  • Assist customers with opening containers and cutting food when requested.
  • Attend all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.
  • Comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  • Report all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
  • Comply with all CMH and HACCP policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to HIPAA laws and safeguard protected health information (PHI).
  • Attend training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
  • Work on a tray line to distribute food.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
